Criminal Defense Since 1993
My Law Firm philosophy is simple, “treat people the way you want to be treated.” That means giving your legal case all the consideration it deserves. No shortcuts. No getting you out the door just to close the case. No pushing you over to some rookie junior partner or legal aide.
Today service is everything, and being a part of the local community my entire life, my clients and their legal happenings are of the utmost importance to me. At my law firm, my employees are efficient and thorough people who are fierce protectors of your rights. In the law profession, experience, tenacity and attention to detail can make all the difference. We have been effectively defending clients since 1993.
A Local Experienced Lawyer is Extremely Important
As a permanent resident of Worcester County my whole life, I am extremely knowledgeable of the local area of Ocean City, Berlin and Salisbury Maryland and the surrounding counties. I am familiar with the court system, the local judges and local procedures. At my law firm, I seek to uphold the law and protect the rights of Maryland residents and our out-of-state visitors. A Committed, Aggressive Problem Solver
I know that sometimes people make mistakes. We’re all human. I seek to thoroughly evaluate every case in order to exploit any and all details in order to minimize my clients’ exposure. I will be completely straight and upfront with you concerning your chances of beating the charge, or whether you should try to get a plea agreement or actually go to trial. If you find yourself in some criminal or legal trouble, please feel free to contact me at any time. I will work for you as though I was the one going to court. We always start from an assumption of going to trial so that we’re in a strong position to either negotiate or actually go to trial. Results are, of course, all important. While past results are not a guarantee of future success, I can say that I’ve been able to help thousands of clients since opening up our law office doors in 1993. It all comes down to getting the best results for my clients, to minimize any consequences and let you get on with your life!

and Under the Civil Law category
A Word to the Wise about “minor” Drug Charges
Please don’t make the mistake of underestimating the consequence of a drug offense charge. A drug charge can escalate to a felony offense, depending upon the type of drug (marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, prescription drugs, etc.) that is seized, its quantity or weight, and its schedule (CDS classification). It is important to remember that a drug conviction can result in a record and/or jail time and can severely affect your ability to find gainful employment – especially in any occupation involving children or those requiring a government security clearance or occupational license. You could also be ineligible for student financial aid.
Nearly all of our clients have the same two questions:
- Will I go to jail? Not if we can help it. We pursue all avenues of defense – from legal technicalities, to negotiation, to trial.
- Will I have a criminal record? Not if we can help it. Whether it is getting criminal charges dropped, a plea bargain or a not guilty verdict, we will work to keep your criminal record clear of the current charge.
